5 wash rules to keep things as new
How often are you upset that things get out of order after a few washings? They can lose shape or they do not wash out stains, or they lose or acquire a different color.
In order to enjoy the original look of clothing longer, you need to know a few rules, how to store dirty things and how to wash correctly. Therefore, we will talk today.
1 ITEM. Storage.
Do not store dirty things in bags or in chest drawers. The air must circulate around them, otherwise they will damp and mold stains may appear on them, which will be a hotbed of bacteria and it is practically impossible to wash them.
For storage of not clean linen, use a classic wicker basket, which is characterized by a large opening and oxygen freely penetrates. In the shops you can pick up a basket that will become a real adornment of your bathroom, and approach you at a price. They range from simple plastic to elegant wicker, various in shape, color and performance.
But if your clothes are very dirty, do not throw it into the basket, but pre-wash the stains. In another way, the spots will be very difficult to remove. After spending only 10 minutes, you are guaranteed to save the thing. For example, a fat stain is easily removed if it is immediately doused with a dishwashing liquid.
2 ITEM. Sorting.
It is important to always read the labels if the producer indicates that the thing needs to be carefully washed or it can be shed, there is no sense to wash it with all things, it is better to separate it. Next, sort the things by colors. Separately we add white, separately black, and color it is desirable to decompose on pastel and bright. And, finally, sort things by the type of fabric. Those that require a delicate wash schedule should be washed separately.
3 ITEM. Preparation.
Before you put things in the drum – check your pockets. There can be a whole treasure: lipstick, money, sweets wrappers, metro tokens, tickets, a computer flash drive and even documents. Washing of valuable things is useless, and also they can cause a breakdown of the washing machine. Zippers, Velcro, buttons and other fasteners on clothes should be buttoned. If things are made of delicate fabric, it is better to sew them carefully with large stitches, then the pocket is not deformed, and after washing and drying, simply remove the thread.
Duvet covers and pillow cases, before washing it is necessary to turn out (piles accumulate in the corners). Socks, too, turns out, and add to the net for washing, then it will be easier to look for couples.
4 ITEM. Loading.
An important point! At first glance, everything seems simple, but no – it’s important not to make mistakes! If you do not load the drum, you will have to overpay for water and detergent, and used electricity, but by overloading the drum, you risk getting a poor-quality washing. Manufacturers of washing machines indicate the weight of dry laundry permissible for loading. Show me a person who weighs things before washing, all this is done by eye. Therefore, in order not to be mistaken, you need to know that if you wash cotton, for example, bed linen, the drum can be full, but so that the linen in it is freely rolled in dry form. And when washing synthetic and delicate fabrics, it is better to fill the drum of the washing machine half, wool – a third.
5 ITEM. Mode and detergent.
If the clothes have labels, you can choose the washing mode easier, you just follow them. If not, it does not matter! Remember that light products from cotton and linen can be washed at the maximum temperature and the same spinning mode. If the products are colored, choose a temperature from 40 to 60 degrees. Synthetics is erased from 40-50 degrees at spinning speeds of not more than 900. Gentle tissues – 30-40 degrees, spinning 600. All things that are suspected of molting, wash at a temperature of not more than 30 degrees.
Detergent choose the most gentle possible. Also contain enzymes that cope with spots from cocoa, blood, ice cream, eggs and ketchup. Dark things and dark jeans are a separate topic, for them choose only liquid detergent, it is better rinsed and does not leave white stains.
Experienced housewives advise:
- To black things do not lose color, when washing, turn them inside out.
- To get the thing you need to dry faster, scroll it in the drum of the washing machine in the spin mode with a large dry towel.
- If you have a machine with a dryer, you can avoid ironing. To do this, straighten the clothes after washing and fold it into the drum, place there a few ice cubes and turn on the drying for 15 minutes. Ice melts and steals things the way an iron would do.
